Shelby Farms Shelby Co. TN A couple of trips to Shelby Farms on Monday revealed the Harris's Sparrow still on location feeding with a Lincoln's Sparrow and 2 Indigo Buntings. It took both trips to find the Yellow-headed. I went to the area near the firing range behind the Fish Ponds and found the bird in some cattails on a small wet area. The bird was chased by 2 territorial male Red-winged Black-birds out of the area and into the Panda Cane Fields east of the fish ponds. I could not relocate the bird over there. Many thanks to Jan Shaw from Nashville and Linda Zemple for the heads up on the Yellow-headed, a great bird that should be shared. Good Birding!!! Jeff R.
