I found the hawk around 8:30 this morning, 7 Oct, in the same area it has
been seen over the past week. It was sitting on the top of a small tree at
the back of a small soy bean(?) field, at the corner of Fairgarden Rd and
Old Newport Hwy. Large very dark bird, with white at base of tail. I had a
clear and good look at the bird for a few minutes before it flew further
away into a very large oak(?) tree behind the next field. The bird was
still visible at that point, but without a scope, was difficult to see.
