Keith, et al, This marsh is near the Alcoa Marsh and is not on publicly accessible property but on some corporate land with no trespassing signs. I work for them and thus have access. I am trying to get permission for some access foro others but have not yet succeeded. The Alcoa Marsh off MacArthur Rd may have some good birds too, but is quite overgrown with multiflora rose and shrubby st. johnswort and is very difficult to slog through. In fact, attempt in recent years to refind Virginia Rails there has failed. My last success was 4-5 years ago by memory and about 30 years ago for King Rail. Hopefully I will be granted some limited access for others at this other site-will keep you posted. Does anyone know if this is accessible to the public? And is this part of Alcoa Marsh and is it accessible? If so, I sure would appreciate some good directions; sounds like a great place to bird. Tom Howe has done the bird postings. Can someone get me in touch with Tom? Again, much appreciated. Keith Watson Pittman Center, TN shaawitya@xxxxxxxxxxx
