Sevier Co., March 14, 2012 I hiked the Alum Cave Bluffs Trail on this gorgeously fair day today. The expected birds were quite active-the Black-capped Chickadees and Red-breasted Nuthatches coming in very close. Only nine species were seen, but all very enjoyable. Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) 1 atop the Bluffs Blue-headed Vireo (Vireo solitarius) 1 singing near the base of the trail American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) 1 Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) 15 Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis) 6 Winter Wren (Troglodytes hiemalis) 3 singing Golden-crowned Kinglet (Regulus satrapa) 8 singing Louisiana Waterthrush (Parkesia motacilla) 1 singing near the base of the trail Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) 6 singing Tom Howe Alcoa
