Checked out the refuge this morning (of course Charles Murray was there, too). Two sandhill cranes were seen from the gazebo along with about 20 gadswalls. A huge flock of American goldfinches flew in as I was leaving. The 3 white pelicans were still seen from the Cherokee Removal Memorial deck. They began swimming up the Hiwassee River as we watched. Over a dozen more sandhill cranes were seen up the Tennessee River at the limit of scope range. Hugh Barger Ooltewah
