We had a birding friend from Alabama visiting the past few days and we took her to Cades Cove on Thursday. I dont know the name of the road that cuts through from the visitor center to near Rich Mountain Road, but we were birding there. There were lots of Palm Warblers and we observed a juvenile White-crowned sparrow for several minutes, stripping seeds off the grass overhanging the road. It just seems early for White-crowned, but I'm still learning about E. TN. birding. Carolyn and Phil Snow Loudon, TN
