I birded Kingston Steam Plant in Roane County, Kingston, TN on October 25,
2006 from 1:57pm to 3:40 pm. Flats were available in the first upper pond
which is currently filled mostly with water, the second, middle pond, and
the lower pond (the pond with the dredging boat). Large trucks were moving
around the two upper ponds and the boat was dredging the lower pond causing
disturbances that may have limited the number of birds seen. The birds seen
are below:

1. Great blue heron- 4
2. Mallard- 1
3. American coot- 79
4. Killdeer- at least 27
5. Least sandpiper- 3
6. Dunlin- 4
7. Ring-billed gull- 10
8. Mourning dove
9. Blue jay and American crow
10. Palm warbler
11. Eastern towhee
12. Savannah sparrow
13. Song sparrow
14. Swamp sparrow
15. White-crowned sparrow
16. Eastern meadowlark
17. American goldfinch
