Hamilton, Polk, Bradley Counties, TN

When I got to campus after banding this morning, I found a dead Common
Yellowthroat; not unheard this time of year, but getting late for them. The
morning's banding tally was 4 Hermit Thrushes (2 were recaps), 2 Golden-crowned
Kinglets, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a Blue Jay, a Carolina Wren, and a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. This weekend I saw my first American Kestrels of the
season. Three were at the Chillhowie Glider Park on Hwy 411 near Benton, 2 more
a couple of miles further down Hwy 411, and 1 in downtown Cleveland.
