Hello TN Birders,
This is a request for any info you may have about the Looney Island in Knoxville.
I am going to apply/ submit this locality as an Important Bird Area in Tennessee. I have counted nesting Great Blue Herons there in the past couple years, but I'm sure many of you have observed this site much longer and have some good info. In fact, in the spring of 2004 after I posted the number I counted, someone replied saying they counted a higher number of active nests and/ or birds on site.
If you have counted nests there or have any related info about active heron nest data and individual birds counted at this location, herons and other species (egrets), please reply to me and I will include it. Thank you.
