Yesterday afternoon(3-18-02), after the heavy rains, I was walking along the Third Creek Bike trail from the UT campus in Knoxville and a Louisiana Waterthrush flew up from the bank of the creek. It chipped at me and landed in a tree about 10 feet in front of me doing it's tail bobbing. Really nice view. Today (3-19-02) I was walking to campus on the same trail and I flushed up a Northern Cardinal with nesting material. I spotted the nest, moved back a few feet and watched her go to the nest with the small piece of grass. I also found an American Robin builing a nest on the Ag-campus. Last week I found crows building on the main campus. It must be spring. Jim Giocomo Knoxville PS I did not find the Waterthrush again today. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Topographical Maps located at http://topozone.com/find.asp * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Tennessee Ornithological Society web site at http://www.tnbirds.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net Owner: Wallace Coffey, Bristol, TN jwcoffey@xxxxxxxxxx (423) 764-3958 =========================================================
