More yard birds. On two occassions since moving into the new house in West Knoxville in late Jan, I had a single male Purple Finch visiting the feeders and eating berries in the woods. This morning I had 3-4 Purple Finches and a few American Goldfinch eating (hickory?) buds in the treetops. My parents in Jefferson City had a single female/1st-winter male at their feeder yesterday (19 March 2002), their first of the season.
