Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee
2011 April 14
7-9 am

Not wanting to get crushed in the birder crowd on the opening
day NTOS walk, I waited until Thursday morning to visit
Radnor. In walking from the West Parking Lot to Long Bridge
and back I found 39 species, somewhat less than yesterday's
NTOS total. A BROAD-WINGED HAWK soared low over the parking lot,
producing a very nice start to the wonderful morning. Several
warbler species, including BLUE-WINGED, NASHVILLE, N. PARULA,
YELLOW_RUMPED, LOUISIANA, and HOODED, were very vocal. I missed
double digit warbler species, finishing with 9 species, but I
did not find some of the birds that Kevin Bowden highlighted since
I did not cover nearly as much territory as he did.

Birds of interest included:
Broad-winged Hawk 1
White-eyed Vireo 1
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 4
Blue-winged Warbler 2
Tennessee Warbler 1
Nashville Warbler 2
N. Parula 5
Yellow-rumped Warbler 28
Palm Warbler 2
Black-and-white Warbler 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 1
Hooded Warbler 1
