Walter S. Davis Blvd Marsh Davidson Co. Nashville, TN 2011 April 4 7:30 am cloudy This Monday morning I made a brief stop at the Walter S. Davis Blvd Marsh to scan for ducks and hoped for a migrating bittern. This small marsh is on the back side of the Tennessee State University campus. A few ducks, mostly BLUE-WINGED TEAL and a large group of coots continue here. As I was about to leave I scanned the skies toward the nearby Cumberland River one more time and immediately spotted an adult BALD EAGLE soaring toward me. It was low enough to spook a half dozen ducks but paid them no mind, continuing past me and toward nearby I-40 and downtown. It certainly could have been seen without binoculars by observant pedestrians and passing motorists.
