Decided to go in a bit late today and bird around the house this morning (west Knox Co, 21 April). Ended up with a respectable 37 species including several new for the year here. Best was a singing Bay-breasted Warbler that is almost as early as Scott and Kevin's Blackpolls. Some of the notables below. - Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, a few including a male doing the courtship display flight - Eastern Kingbird, FOS here (have had them elsewhere already), uncommon here - Red-eyed Vireo, probably on territory - Myrtle Warbler, several - Bay-breasted Warbler, 1 male heard singing, FOS about 1 week early - Indigo Bunting, FOS - Blue Grosbeak, FOS - Baltimore Oriole, 1 male, FOS, also a bit early Dean Edwards Knoxville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
