Hello, Here in the Charlotte Park area of West Nashville just east of the old Cleece's Ferry, I just had the first of yet another nest full of squawking mockingbirds land on the deck rail screaming for its parent to feed it some peanut butter. Two more babies are in the nest down the hill, and the parents are taking turns feeding them AND the fledgling that just appeared here. By tomorrow, it will be feeding itself even though it will still beg and squawk for attention. There is still a bumper crop of wild grapes on the massive vine that surrounds my deck, and it is literally filled with birds that I seldom see because of the thick foliage. It's sure saving on bird food as many of my fruit and seed feeders have gone for the grapes instead.
