Hello, We visited Nickajack Lake again today. I was surprised to see four Tree Swallows and an Eastern Bluebird fighting over bird boxes. (After seeing the Purple Martin yesterday, I guess I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was.) We also noted two different White-winged Scoters. One was viewed over at the rest area very close to shore. I finally added Canvasbacks to my life list! They were in a mixed flock that also included Redheads and Lesser Scaup. I did get to see an Oprey feeding, but I missed the Bald Eagle that Bill seen. A single Blue-winged Teal was seen in a cove. The wooded areas were full of beautiful birdy sounds! As I was carrying my scope (yes, Richard, I now carry my scope with me when at a lake!), I noticed a whitish and blackish warbler (I was looking from a dark area into the light). I couldn't get my scope down and my binos up fast enough to see what it was. We played hide and seek a ways before I finally lost it. I can tell you what it wasn't, but I sure can't tell you what it was. I guess it's time to start gearing up for warbler season! Kristy Baker Rutherford County Rockvale, TN
