I forgot to mention that the avocets were in the fourth pond at Wal-Mart
Distribution Center--all the way around the building to the right and
past the long, narrow cattail pond. The fourth pond is the deepest, but
avocets have very long legs, so the birds had no trouble reaching the
bottom in the shallow end of the pond.
