On my way home from a lunchtime visit to Forks of the River WMA, I saw a large falcon flying above the James White Parkway bridge over the Tennessee River in Knoxville. The facial hood indicated it was a Peregrine Falcon, although it had reddish brown coloration at the base of the underwings. Didn't look like the mark a Prairie Falcon has. I haven't seen any pictures (nor live falcons!) showing this mark - anyone familiar with it?
