April 20, 2008 Hardin, Lewis Counties, TN Pickwick Dam Area, Burton Branch, Natchez Trace Parkway Drove south today to bird the big water to find gulls and migrants, some = of the highlights were: Common Loons - 5 broad-wing hawk - 3 Ring-billed gull - 50+ Herrring gull - 10+ Caspian Tern - 15 Forster's Tern - 2 Fish crow - 2 wood thrush Hooded warbler=20 Canada warbler (Burton Branch, 1st day use area on the left) Kentucky warbler blue grosbeak orchard oriole Most gulls were perched on concrete pilings above dam, could not get a = good look at them without getting in a boat or getting runover on the = highway.
