I hate putting this on the list, but my kids brought me the two babies they found at grandma's that had been "abadoned by their mother". It was two baby killdeer/ I had them take them back and hope all turns out well, but?I think it would be a good idea for all of us to remind people, esp kids, to leave nests and babies alone. If they continue to just "not get" how the babies weren't abandoned, just put it in people terms. "You mother has to leave you to go to the bathroom, to go to the store to get food, and to take out the trash, but that doesn't mean they left you for good." Kids seem to understand that.
