Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Thurs. 2009 Oct. 8 7-9:30am cloudy The weather for my walk at Radnor Lake this Thursday morning could not have been more different than yesterday. Today was cloudy with the wind at times beginning to pick up. The birds were not as numerous -- the vast majority of them being concentrated at the dam area. Nevertheless, the morning walk proved enjoyable. A pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL were on the lake along with dozens of CANADA GEESE. Dozens of CHIMNEY SWIFTs swirled about. I ended the morning with 4 species of vireos and 9 species of warblers. ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKs were still around and a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH and SCARLET TANAGER provided nice variety.
