[TN-Bird] Results of Chattanooga CBC, December 14

Twenty-six participants braved a very rainy morning (which turned in to
a good birding day as weather cleared) on the Chattanooga CBC held on
December 14 and found 99 species.

 

Highlights included:

-          First Ross's Goose ever on count

-          Second record ever for Lapland Longspur

-          High count for Canvasbacks (194)

-          High count for Pied-billed Grebe (314)

-          High count for Mourning Dove (1196)

-          High count for Rusty Blackbird (462)

-          Adult female Rufous Hummingbird (was banded by Mark Armstrong
on November 10)

-          2 Purple Finch

-          2 Virginia Rail at Standifer Gap Marsh

-          1 Red-breasted Merganser

 

Misses:

-          American Pipit

-          Pine Siskin

-          American Wigeon
