I had the pleasure of working on an environmental task force with Mack years
ago. A favorite memory of Mack is sitting on Bob Brown’s front porch sharing
stories when Bob was ailing. His passion for conservation and generosity of
heart will be missed greatly.

Thanks for sharing, Tim. I enjoyed the time I spent with Mack, but I'm just now
learning of his many accomplishments and contributions to conservation here in
Tennessee. He will be missed!

I didn't know Mack, so I looked him up and found a wonderful video about him
and his work here: https://www.mackprichard.com/

Morning Tn-birders…
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Mack Prichard, longtime TOS
Life-member, Tennessee State Park Naturalist Emeritus and Conservationist
passed away last evening.
Below is a post from his niece Lisa Luck:
“Wanted to let you know Mack passed away last night peacefully in his sleep. We
are so heartbroken to lose Mack but are relieved that he is no longer tethered
to his broken body. We will all miss him deeply. He has been a wonderful
friend, mentor and an inspiration to all of us. We have not planned a funeral
due to COVID-19, but hope we can have a celebration of his life later in the
year. If you have any ideas about how to celebrate -- let us know. Mom
mentioned maybe we could have a gathering at a state park in celebration and
even scatter some of his ashes. Thank you for your outpouring of support. I
will forward a copy of his obituary to you once it is written.” Lisa Luck
When additional details are available I’ll let you all know.
Please keep his family and friend in your thoughts…
Cheers!
