Birds were numerous this morning as I walked from the dam around to long bridge
and back. FOS highlights for me were Acadian Flycatcher next to the road up to
the dam, Bay-Breasted Warbler, several American Redstarts, several
Chestnut-Sided Warblers, two Northern Waterthrushes, a Wilson's Warbler at long
bridge, and a male Mourning Warbler just past the observation deck and bench
16. Jan Shaw and I first heard it calling ahead of us in the new-growth
honeysuckles, and then it was silent a couple of minutes before calling for 3-4
minutes and eventually sat up on a limb in the open, allowing for nice photos.
Paige O was able to get a quick glimpse as well. It then moved east and
called before going silent again. The new growth honeysuckles are good habitat
for it.
