Around 2-3 p.m. central, I and several other folks had great views of 2
Swallow-tailed Kites and a Broad-winged Hawk. We started at R&D
Slaughterhouse on Hwy 127 in Bledsoe Co., but the birds were far away. The
best viewing was at the entrance of Chatt. State Tech Comm College. We also
good views of individual kites at the Church of Christ, about a mile
further south on Hwy 127.

Earlier in the day, a friend and I located a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at
the entrance to Brushy Cemetery, off Old Tn 28. The bird only had one tail
feather--possible molting? Accident?

We also saw a Great Egret on Old TN 28 and American Kestrels at Ninemile
Crossroad and on East Valley Rd near Akins Rd.
