This a.m.(4/13) on Sharp's Ridge in Knoxville a Swainson's Warbler was heard and then seen at close range. Observers were Steve and Rebecca Satterfield, Beth and Daniel Schilling and Frank Bills. I believe that one was heard here several years ago on the Knox Spring Count. This p.m. at Kyker Bottoms in Blount Co. an American Bittern and a Tricolored Heron were seen. To accesss the area where these birds were flushed, one must walk the levee behind the wetland ponds which are now mostly dry except for the sloughs along each side of the levee.
