Protocol: Traveling
4.0 mile(s)
Comments: 84 degs, overcast, slight breeze. The weather front that came
through yesterday was good for setting some birds down. Several thousand
shorebirds down at the pits (pit 4 has the biggest concentration, good looks
from the north levee neer the covered pit).
Saturday's Avocet is still in the central Blkbelly whs. duck area with a couple
of Blknk stilts. Second Avocet found on pit 4 adult very curved beak still has
some tan on neck.
Total of 60 Blk Bellied whistling ducks this afternoon w/ some young tagging
along, some little fuzzies and several that have fledged. Lots of whistling
going on. Fulvous still present hanging out with the Blk bellies.
Blk-necked Stilts are few and far between right now.
Starlings in the thousands also. Some great color variations.
