The marsh we are calling Standifer Gap Marsh belongs to

Living Covenant Christian Center
6601 Standifer Gap Road
Chattanooga, TN 37421

phone: 423 - 899 - 3933

Pastor: Michael R. Lindon
home phone: 423 - 843 - 9906
e-mail: mlindon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx (all lower case)

Pastor Lindon advises me that TOS members are welcome to observe birds and
other wildlife at the marsh. He and the church are aware that the marsh is a
valuable wildlife resourse, and they wish to maintain its natural condition.

Their major concern is safety and liability. The marsh has a number of
hazzards, including deep water, a very irregular bottom, quicksand, and
snapping turtles and possible venomous snakes. TOS members assume all
responsibility for any injury or accident that may occur on Living Covenant
property, and by entering the property agree to assume all responsibility for
any injury or accident.

Pastor Lindon also asks that we put this notice on the TOS and Chattanooga
Chapter websites. Website manager please post the notice (regarding liability)
on the website and let me and/or Pastor Lindon know it has been posted. It
might be well for TOS and Chattanooga Chapter officers also go on record with
a simple e-mail message to Pastor Lindon.

The church also asks that we respect their worship time, Sunday mornings and
Wednesday evenings, not using the parking lot at those times and not doing
anything that might distract the worshippers.

I would emphasize that Pastor Lindon and the members I talked to were very
friendly and helpful.

He told me the swamp was in something of its present condition until about 30
years ago. Then it dried up and served as pasture land with mowed grass for a
couple of decades. About 1990 it filled up again with water. It is primarily
spring fed, with some additional drainage from surrounding land, including some
coming under the railroad tracks.
