August 2, 2012 Humphreys Co, TN Duck River Unit Was able to pick up the reported Sedge Wrens this morning. They were still along the westernmost side of pool 3 on the Blue Goose Wildlife Loop, as reported earlier. Surprisingly a Life Bird for me! I saw at least 6, but it seemed like a dozen or more were singing along the same area. There also was a concentration of Mourning Doves along the pool and lake, at least 50 birds. The Little Blue Herons were easily spotted. There were at least 30 still, nearly all immature with just a few adults, plus 2 in "calico" plumage. Other notables were: Dickcissels, Blue Grosbeak, Green Heron, Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, RS Hawk, and 2 distant shorebirds that if on a limb I would go with Pectorals.
