A few notes from the last couple days:

Little Elder Island, Woods Res, Franklin Co., 3 June 2014
Snowy Egret - 4, at least one nest almost on the ground
Cattle Egret - 75+ nests on the ground
Great Egret - 6 nests on the ground
Double-crested Cormorant - one nest on the ground
FISH CROW - two calling continuously on the island
No Little Blue Herons this year

Bennett Lake area on Nickajack above the dam (and east of I-24), Marion Co.
Fish crow - 2, more expected here than at Woods Res.

Grundy Co - not too far from Goose Pond, 3 June 14
Cattle Egret - 8. Little Elder Island isn't all that far away as an egret
flies. Likely long commute to feed and stand on cattle (one was standing on a
cow)

Percy Priest Lake, 4 June 2014
Rutherford Co - upstream from the Lamar Hill Boat Ramp in Smyrna - 8 breeding
plumage BLACK TERNS
Davidson Co - off Long Hunter SP, one non-breeding plumage BLACK TERN

Pear Island rookery off Long Hunter SP - a least 12 Cattle Egret. A personal
high count for the area.

I'll post some photos of this stuff when I get a chance.

Cheers,
Scott Somershoe
