I was quite surprised this evening to find a White-rumped Sandpiper
still present in Greene County. The bird was on the pond at River
Plantation subdivision, located at the end of Holly Creek Road along the
Nolichuckey River in the Tusculum area.

This is the first time I have recorded this species in June, all my
previous observations having come between May 13 and 24.

The bird appeared to be in fresh breeding plumage, so I assume it was a
late migrant.

Greeneville, TN
