TN-Birds:
Everyone is handing out congratuations for the good job at the Crane
Festival and An Evening For the Birds.

I want Judy Newsome to lead us off and list the names of those members of
the committee and the volunteers who pulled this off.

Then I want to ask Jimmy Wilkerson to fill in the blanks on any names he
knows of that might have been missed.

Then we should have Troy Ettel to continue by adding the names of the key
volunteers and agency people from TWRA who helped pull this off.

And anyone else who sees a name left out should send a message to the net
and add that person.

This is a good time and a good media for the purpose of giving abundant
credit to the individuals who worked so hard.

Let's not make fear that we shouldn't do this because we might leave someone
out. We aren't going to leave anyone out. Everyone keep sending names
until we get them all. You know who they are.

If anyone is inclined to note what any or all individuals did to make it
work, let's say so.

Finally, two things. (1) Only recognize people by name and/or
contribution. This is not the place to recognize businesses or commercial
contributions or sponsors or gift givers, etc.
(2) For all the work, sweat, effort, hours and months of getting this ready
and pulling it off, the rest of us can endure however many messages or
delete keys we have to deal with to show appreciation for the fabulous work
at Chattanooga and throughout the state in order to hold the celebration.

>I want to thank everyonel that attended "An Evening for the Birds" last
Friday evening. The Chattanooga Chapter of TOS worked long and hard to pull
the event together. With a lot of help from Troy Ettel, TWRA, our efforts
were rewarded when we were greeted by so many friendly faces from around the
state and beyond.
>
>Thanks to all 300 people in attendance, our sponsors and the silent auction
items, we raised $7,500 to benefit the Cherokee Removal Monument and
projects at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge.
>
>I'm still thinking about Choogie Kingfisher's stories and Kenn Kaufman's
delightful "Secret Lives of Birds and Bird Watchers". Both of these men
deserve our gratitude for donating their time to such worthy causes.
>
>Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions concerning the event.
There just might be a next time.
