Fellow Tn-birders:
Please allow me to take this opportunity to publicly recognize the work of
Chris Sloan, Portia McMillian and others. This stunning day of banding hummers
by Chris is proof of the hard work and long hours required to do such
successful documentation and research. My hat is off to these guys for all of
that hard work.

With Alabama's Fred Moore and at times Martha Sargent and me, Chris and company
will continue to open wide the door for us all to view the lives of these very
special little birds.

Sneak a peek at what was known about hummingbirds in Tennessee only a dozen
years ago. The results of the banding efforts there will astound you. Much of
the success of this research is due in large part to the assistance of Wallace
Coffey and the folks right here on Tn-birds.

Congratulations Chris and a special salute to our wonderful friends in
Tennessee.

Bless All.
Bob
