Hello all. For about the last week, I've had a huge mixed flock of Gold Finches, Purple Finches and Pine Siskins. The Gold Finches and Siskins probably number around 200+ birds with the Purple Finches only representing 3-4 birds at a time. Of the Purple Finches, most have been females. Only one or two males and these have not been regular visitors. I have seven feeders in one area. Six are filled with black oil sunflower seeds and one is a thistle sock feeder. I also throw a huge amount of sunflower seeds, thistle and millet on the ground.
