Just an alert for eBird users. This week eBird implemented another regular update of its taxonomy. While there are no splits or lumps affecting the Tennessee list, there are a few small changes in checklist sequence, and one big whopper. The falcons are no longer anywhere near the other raptors. You will find them now in between the woodpeckers and flycatchers. So when you can't find the box for American Kestrel this weekend, look for it after Pileated Woodpecker! This is not a mistake; this shift will probably be implemented in the next North American AOU update as well.
