For those of you traveling west into Arkansas to view the now famous Brown
Booby, some of you may want to stop near West Memphis, AR for a few minutes
to catch a glimpse of a flock of 275+ Wood Storks on the south portion of
Long Pond. Long Pond is located halfway between Waverly, AR and Midway
Corner, AR about 12 miles south of I-40 and southwest of West Memphis, AR.
You can exit I-40 at either Exit 271 or Exit 275 and travel south. I
recommend using Exit 275 and traveling south on Hwy 118 because the turns
on the rural road are easier to follow. Using the Delorme Tennessee
Gazateer is advised if you have access to one (page 64 D-2).

Other birds noted were 90 Great Egrets, 10 Great Blue Herons, and a few
Snowy Egrets and Little Blue Herons.
