Thanks Rick, you confirmed something I thouht I observed out at Dutch
Bottoms on Thursday. We were in the area and I was counting Great Blues and
thought I saw an immature Bald sitting on an exposed bar or small section of
the flat. I didn't have a scope so I wasn't positive, but I am pretty sure
now that that is what I saw also.

Subject: [TN-Bird] massive Dunlin flock at Douglas Lake
On Friday, 1 Nov, while en route to the TOS fall meeting,
seven members of the Bristol & Herndon chapters stopped
at Dutch Bottoms on upper Douglas Lake.
A flock of 800+ Dunlin were present on the mudflats.
This is double the previous high count for the state given
in Robinson's 1990 "Annotated Checklist"!
Also of note:
200 + Great Blue Herons
3 Great Egrets
23 Greater Yellowlegs
2 Pectoral Sandpipers
1 im. Bald Eagle
120 + Tree Swallows
Observers:
Wallace Coffey, Larry McDaniel, Don Holt, Dave Worley,
Janice Martin, Ruth Smith & Rick Knight
