I was going to do as you suggeted, Brian, but I had built a nice wood cabinet to house my two 1541's and 1701 monitor, so I also picked up a couple of cheap cooling fans from Princess Auto and mounted them in the cabinet in the shelf between the disk drives and the monitor. I made a Youtube video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy3BhWj2rCw ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Lyons To: torontocbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2008 2:33 PM Subject: [torontocbm] Re: 4.5V DC Adapter I've got to get to a Value Village some day! When I was last into Sayal in Mississauga they also had a wide assortment of adapters. One may not get an exact match, but there is likely some thing in the bins that is a close enough match. Paul, why didn't you just pull power for cooing fan off 1541 power supply? I guess this is a dumb question, if you mounted fan externally ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Quirk To: torontocbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2008 12:41 PM Subject: [torontocbm] Re: 4.5V DC Adapter I've had pretty good luck finding this sort of thing at the local Value Village, where they sell them for $1.99 a piece. That's where I got the one that powers the cooling fans for my 1541 disk drives. ----- Original Message ----- From: Hildon, Karl To: torontocbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:41 PM Subject: [torontocbm] 4.5V DC Adapter Hey everyone, I'm looking for a 4.5V DC power adapter, 500ma or better. I realize this has nothing directly to do with Commodore stuff and in fact I don't even need it for computer equipment. :[ But I thought at least some of you are probably like me with a box of old adapters laying around and maybe someone has a 4.5. Golan, can you send me the name of that electronics store on Bloor? I think they had a batch of cubes - perhaps I could call them and see if they have what I need. Karl karl.hildon@xxxxxxxxx
