James MacFarlane is a friend of mine (although we haven't seen each other in years and years) and I met Ken a couple of times but I never got to know him. Their 'claim to fame' was that they wrote a couple of BBS programs that were available free of charge. Ken wrote the BASIC and James the ML. The first was called Spence and the second generation was called Spence XP (X meaning Xmodem and P meaning Punter, both transfer protocols).
