Dan,

The rs-232 emulation works enough to get the BBS up. The trouble arrives
when it tries to manage a connection. The demo worked because I put
DarkStar into Modem-Suppress mode. There is no code to share. I've made
some changes to the modem driver, but they're incomplete. I've also
discovered a bunch of other bugs in DarkStar proper that I'm working on
patching around the way it opens files on the disk drive. But as I've told
you before, I have little to no time to work on this - like I've looked at
it once in the past year.

There are no other C64 emulators that implement a user port at all.
