Hi, VHS to DVD "dual deck" transfer machines are cheap these days. Walmart sells them for $150 or so. You just put the tape in, put a blank DVD in, select a "quality" (sp,lp,slp etc) and press DUB. I have a Pioneer model I got from TigerDirect for about $270 a while back, and I find it very easy to use. Much easier than doing the computer digitizing route if all you need is a straight copy. Steve PS. That was my first meeting! Looking forward to more. ----- Original Message ---- From: Chris Cunnington <cunnington@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: torontocbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 21, 2007 10:19:17 PM Subject: [torontocbm] Re: Old Shows We were talking about various old TV shows at the meeting. I looked up Automan to see what that was about. I remember somebody mentioning "Eureka", the animated short about physics, after I'd mentioned it in the car ride over. I have a line on a source that will lend me all six tapes, all 30 episodes, the whole shot. We can see them all. The thing is they are on tape, and I assume that means (I can find out) that they are on VHS. I don't have a TV anymore, or a VHS player. I'd like to find some people on this list who have some knowledge about VHS to DVD transfer, so that we can make copies for all. If somebody contacts me on the board and says they have the know-how, and some ideas on where to get the hardware, then I'll contact my source. Chris "Greetings Professor Falken. Shall we play a game?"
