[Va-bird] 21 Species of Warbler, Fauquier County

VA-Birders,

Very nice numbers of birds were moving through western Fauquier County today
(and some Warren County), with very good species diversity as well.  I observed
21 species of Warbler mostly at Thompson WMA along Freezeland Road near Linden
and along Leeds Manor Road just to the east, starting at 5:50 AM and finishing
at 10:45.  Large numbers of CERULEAN WARBLERS were present and singing, with
many viewed closely.  I counted 28 of them along Freezeland and another near
the Lake along Leeds Manor.  There were also several KENTUCKY WARBLERS being
unusually conspicuous, a couple BLACKBURNIANS, a TENNESSEE, and a CHAT that was
also at the Lake along Leeds Manor.

From there I drove along Carr Lane, just south of the entrance to Sky Meadows
SP and onto Rectortown Rd to the town of Marshall, occasionally stopping for
birds.  Near the start of Carr were two adult RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS and a few
GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS.  Along Rectortown Rd a NORTHERN BOBWHITE called once and
a CLIFF SWALLOW was flying with Tree Swallows.  91 species were observed for
the morning, and lists are below for each location.
