At the end of a full day of Bird-a-Thon birding, my wife Lori and I stopped off
at our favorite local wetland and discovered a total 40 Great Egrets! I believe
they were roosting. I had seen this once before on the Outerbanks of NC. I was
wondering why these would not be breeding birds? No nests here, so I assume
they were only roosting.
