Walking in the woods during a soft rain is one of the life's more pleasant
experiences. Today's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk provided such a
delight. The rain kept the birder count down to only 8, but the bird count was
48. Of special note were the sighting of two Brown Creepers, presumed to have
stopped in on their trip north. Also of interest were a few Wood Warblers,
perhaps the first born Barn Swallows of the year, and a Scarlet Tanager
singing high in the trees along the Cedar Trail. A beautiful morning - rain
and all.
