This morning the temperature at my house was 46F and the wind was out of the NNE at 20mph. The wind plus the new moon created a very high tide at 9:15am. The strong wind blew a lot of the seeds of the Baccharis halimifolia growing along the edge of the lagoon into the water where the puddle ducks scooped them off the surface. The group of ducks included over 40 Mallards, 18 American Black Ducks, a pair of American Wigeons, a female Green-winged Teal, one female and two male Wood Ducks, and one male and five female Hooded Mergansers. A really nice mix.
