Va Birders,
Spent only about 45 min. at Lake Fairfax this morn but in time to see a loose
flock of 9
American PipitsAm gently land on soccer field #2? east of the Skatepark.
For abt. 10 min. then they walked and worked their way over to the soccer field
adjacent to the skatepark before they picked up and headed towards the
softball fields to the east.
The first ice of the season was covering the shallow fingers of the lake
which my dog Scout had to weight test it's strenghth while
I was looking at two very vocal Belted Kingfishers. She got the
expected results and was knee deep in water but seemed quite
happy anyway.
