Hi all, While on our way to the songbird banding station this morning, Jim
Roberts and I crossed paths with a male Barn Owl on route 600. The bird was
sitting on the road and allowed us to approach in the car to within perhaps 25
feet. It sat there for several moments before flushing to a grassy area
adjacent to the road where we left it. This was at about 6am just south of the
junction of 600 and Jones Cove Road. It was not seen subsequently when Zak
Poulton passed through this area on his Saw-whet net checks a short time later.
