Four crows showed up in our backyard today.  We see crows
occasionally, but it was a bit unusual to see four at once.  Even
though they were not vocalizing very much, I wondered if they might be
keeping a hawk under watch.   And sure enough after a short time a
Cooper's Hawk showed itself.

It appeared to be a crow family of two adults and two juveniles.  I
took some photos of one of the crows and it appeared to be a juvenile:

The hawk posed on one of our bird feeder posts and then surprised us
by dropping to the ground and sitting in a dish that we keep filled
with water for the birds.
