The Williamsburg Bird Club ventured to Shirley Plantation Saturday, =
March 17
for our monthly field trip. Eleven participants braved cold temps and =
winds
off the river to find 47 species around the Great House and one of the
nearby impoundments.
Highlight was the pair of Baltimore Orioles flitting around the formal
gardens near the Gift Shop. There are numerous White-crowned Sparrows in =
the
formal gardens as well.

REMINDER: To bird Shirley Plantation, you must pay the admission fee of
$10.50 at the Gift Shop. There are discounts for AARP, AAA, active =
military.
This location is definitely worth the reasonable fee for a morning of =
great
birding.
