My husband, son, and I got up at 5am on Sunday morning and headed up to Big Meadow. We had hoped to get some nice deer shots, but due to the number of people, the deer were scarce. I did however, find a nice area with a large variety and quantity of birds. Across from the Big Meadow visitor center, there is a parking area near a trail that goes back through the meadow. Just to the right of that, there is an area that has trees, large bushes, and high weeds. I was amazed at the number of birds in there.
Some of the birds I saw included:

Eastern Bluebirds - many different ages and stages of molting - definitely the most popular bird in the area.
American Goldfinch
Cowbird
Pine Warbler

and many others that I couldn't ID...I am still trying to learn these birds.

Pics are mostly of the deer, but some birds in the folder:

As always, comments are welcome.
